The development of type 6 is an indication of growing up feeling insecure in any aspect of life; this is the reason why even at the ordinary level, type 6 is prone to anxiety and paranoia. There is a fundamental fear that is shared by all of the enneagram types; yet, type 6 is distinct since the dread is fear itself. Having concerns about everything and everything that may take their place.

Because of their lack of self-confidence, people who have type 6 have a difficult time believing their own views. As a result, they seek to someone or something else to lead them, which is essentially a supporting framework that is external to themselves. They also have a difficult time trusting individuals they do not know, but when they do trust someone, they develop a strong sense of loyalty to that person.
For those who are familiar with the concept of attachment styles, it is very probable that a type 6 individual will have a scared avoidant (disorganized) attachment style.

Despite the fact that loyalty is a positive trait, it is a result of fear. Type 6 individuals are protective of the people, possessions, and belief systems that they hold dear since these are the things that make them feel secure. The likelihood of someone becoming codependent on anything is high if their type 6 blood sugar level is not at the healthy range. Furthermore, regardless of the degree of trust that exists between you and other people, if you have a bad image of yourself, you will ultimately acquire a negative perspective of other people.
