Why the Enneagram Isn’t a Tool for Blame or Hurt

The basic truth that no two individuals are exactly identical continues to be the case, and the assumption that “All eights probably act in this particular terrible way” is ironically comparable to engaging in racist behavior.

From the very beginning, the objective of psychology has been to assist individuals in overcoming challenges. Only this is the ultimate objective. It was expressly meant to provide you with insight into others so that you may have at least a general concept about how to assist them, and they can assist you. The Enneagram was developed to serve this purpose.

Let me make it quite clear: the Enneagram was never intended to be used as a weapon for the purpose of inflicting pain on other people, which is precisely what you are attempting to do.

My straightforward recommendation is to sever all relationships with the individual who has caused you pain and make an effort to find people who will stand by you. In the process of disintegration, every type of Enneagram becomes destructive; type 8s are not the only ones who damage others when they are battling with an insecurity, a difficulty, or any other condition.

In a nutshell: It is both immature and unhealthy to take out your anger on others who seem to be similar to the person who abused you. Instead of becoming destructive like the person who wounded you, you should find out how to heal and overcome them so that you may go on with your life.
